Evaluations - What to Expect

Schedule Appointment:

Once you communicate interest in evaluation and sign our fee agreement, your case will be assigned to

a neuropsychologist. You will receive an initial welcome letter from your neuropsychologist, which will

include their professional (e.g., license number) and personal (e.g., picture) information as a way of

introduction. This will be followed by a phone call to schedule the first appointment.

Initial Interview :

At the first appointment, you are encouraged to communicate freely with your neuropsychologist

about what you hope and need from this evaluation. You will be scheduled for the test administration

portion of the exam at this time.

This step takes about 1 hour for both you and doctor

Testing Algorithm Design:

While you are waiting for your appointment, doctor selects tests to administer to answer your question(s) comprehensively and efficiently. During this step, doctor may also send you questionnaires (behavior rating scales) to complete.

This step takes about 30 minutes of doctor's time.

Test Administration:

Testing appointment will include administration of neuropsychological measures specifically designed

and developed to answer the questions you presented at your initial visit.

This step can range from 1 hour to 4 (and in very rare circumstances more) hours for both you and doctor.

Synthesis of the Results and Report Writing:

During this step doctor scores the tests, compiles data summary and analyses the results to arrive to final diagnostic impression. Also during this step doctor documents question, history, test results, diagnostic assessment and recommendation in a report that can serve as a medical document for purposes of confirmation of diagnosis.

You are done with your part and can relax. It takes doctor 4-6 hours to do her or his part.

Feedback and detailing the results:

You and doctor meet again to discuss the results and recommendations as well as answer your questions.

This is final step and takes about 1 hour.
