Sorry, we don't accept insurance. Insurance companies only cover neuropsychological evaluations that they consider medically necessary, such as for autism, psychiatric disorders, dementias, or issues related to neurological conditions such as stroke or seizures. If you seek services similar to those described above, please contact a provider who is in network with your insurance company. If you do not have any medical coverage, please contact us and we can guide you further.
However, you have come to the right play if you are seeking an evaluation for reasons related to ADHD, academic or workplace accommodations, or to gain insight into your cognitive processes.
Total evaluation cost depends on the complexity of evaluation. This will determine how many hours the provider will need to spend / dedicate to each client (both face-to-face and behind the scene).
Evaluations can range from 4 hours to 12 hours (and in very rare cases longer), but typically take between 5 and 9 hours. Total cost is calculated based on $260-per-hour rate.
1. Initial appointment / interview: meeting where you communicate youyou’re your child’s) concerns to your doctor and doctor collects relevant history.
Category: Face to Face.
Time: approximately 30-60 minutes.
2. Testing algorithm design: Doctor selects tests to administer to answer your questions and address your concerns. During this step, the doctor may also distribute questionnaires (behavior rating scales) for you and collaborators to complete.
Category: Behind the Scenes.
Time: 30 min of doctor's time.
3. Test administration: Administration of neuropsychological tests.
Category: Face to Face.
Time: 1 hour to 4 hours.
4. Synthesis of the results and report writing: During this step the doctor scores the tests, compiles data summary, and analyses the results to arrive a final diagnostic impression. The doctor also documens examination questions, history, test results, diagnostic impressions, and recommendations in a report that can serve as a medical document for purposes of confirmation of diagnosis.
Category: Behind the Scenes
Time: 2-6 hours
5. Feedback and presentation of results: You and the doctor meet again to discuss the results of the evaluation, the recommendations, as well as answer your questions.
Category: Face to Face
Time: This is the final step and takes approximately 30-60 minutes
We understand constraints you might feel. If you would like to decrease the cost of the evaluation there is a possibility of targeted rather than comprehensive evaluation; this will take less time. You can discuss this with your provider. Another way to reduce the cost is to opt for a brief report that includes only diagnostic impression and recommendations, rather than a detailed report that is often in excess of 15 pages
First payment of $260 is due at the first meeting for diagnostic interview.
Second payment of $1040 (covers 1 hour of testing, 2 hours of analysis and report writing and 1 hour of feedback) is due at the time of testing appointment.
If there is a balance remaining, the balance is due before the feedback appointment. Payment in full is required for release of the report.
Any further doctor's involvement (e.g., disability form completion or participation in school meetings) will be assessed separately at the rate of $260 per hour, prorated if needed.
