IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) mandates various agencies and environments to accommodate individuals with different disabilities or conditions. This includes IEP (Individualized Education Plan) and 504 Plan. Accommodations can include, but are not limited to time extensions, testing in a room free from distractions, individual tutoring, scribe for note-taking, reader for testing, speech-to-type software, mental health counseling etc.

Similar to IDEA mandated accommodations in school, college and on standardized tests ( such as SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, LSAT, MCAT),  The Americans with Disability Act (ADA) requires employers to provide reasonable workplace accommodations to employees with disability.  In order to qualify for such accommodations and/or program modifications, one must provide evidence of disability (such as a formal diagnosis) and its implications on performance. Neuropsychological evaluation provides just such evidence necessary to qualify, if indicated.
